A poem for my Mum

If you have a Mother love her while you may For I wish with all my heart that mine was here today. No-one now to cheer me up when I’m feeling down. No-one to make me a cuppa and bring me a cream bun from town. No-one to do the ironing just because they care. No-one to sit in her old rocking chair. We had our ups and downs it’s true But she was always there. Now she’s with the ones she’s missed for so long She told me not to cry, that I must be strong. But that is easier said than done When you have lost your Mum. No-one else is quite the same No other has that name If I cry I’m not to blame I’ve lost my Mum.
