Frances was born in Anglesey and came to Yorkshire when she was 8 years old. I started researching the family history and found out interesting bits for her about her grandparents and great grandparents. Her childhood was hard, as it was for so many growing up in the Twenties and throughout the war years. But she had loving parents and family. She married James McShane in 1945 in the Catholic church, Maltby and they had 43 happy years together until his death. She had a series of family deaths in the late 1940's and early 1950's, including that of her first-born daughter Shelagh in 1951 when she was nearly two years old. She had Angela by then, and later on Magdalene (Dalene). She was so proud of 'my girls'. When Jim died in 1988 she moved to Wakefield to live with Angela and was a great help to her. She doted upon her three grandchildren Jasmine, Jamie and Janessa. She loved to travel, enjoyed new experiences, the Theatre, reading and music. She always wanted to make others happy.
